Experiment Part 1

Introduction

This portion of my blog will follow the process of my moving mytage.  As stated before, I want to juxtapose various image styles, from animation to still shot photos, to present the conflict that arises when the frame, or gap of an image is made apparent. After this, I want strategically place each image into sequential order to give the collective group of images a visual narrative, which will offer a visual narrative of my Mystory. By doing so, I hope to draw upon the photographic essay and the nature of montage to capture the chaotic yet potential orderly fashion of the unconscious.  Relying on images that are not directly myself  but capture my mood, essence, and memory, will afford me a  greater opportunity to establish a juxtaposition within the gaze between the subject (who I am) and other (what I believe myself to be or who I ought to be). The subject and object will be represented through a set of "father" and "daughter" images. The subject being the "father" images  will set up each narrative sequence while the other will  represent the animations that make up the sequence of narrative. The creation of a virtual narrative,  i hope, will  not only let us see how the "other" thrives within electracy, but it also shows us how elements of the popcycle: family, entertainment, and community have influenced and shaped our very being. The virtual space is the perfect place for the unconscious to release its strong holds and engage in battle with the conscious, the classic subject-other spat--Me vs Myself.
